NeeDoh comes from Schylling, an American toymaker that has spent 50 years turning simple ideas into things people keep.
Here is who we are, and why "the original" actually means something.
The Company
50 years of originals.
Schylling has been making toys since 1975. Over five decades, our name has gone on some things you probably grew up with. We tend to take a classic idea and reimagine it into something worth remembering, then make it well enough to last.
NeeDoh® is the most recent of those originals. It started as a single soft glob and grew into a whole family of sensory squish. When demand outran our supply by six times in early 2026, it was a surprise in scale but not in spirit. We have always made the kind of thing people want to hold.
The Origin
Where NeeDoh® started.
Before there were cubes, fuzz balls, and a 24-day calendar, there was the Groovy Glob®: the original NeeDoh, a soft squish you could not put down. Everything in the family today traces back to that first glob and the simple feeling it gave your hands.
We kept asking what else a squish could do, and the answer kept growing.
How It's Made
Designed and tested in North Andover.
Every NeeDoh® is designed in-house at our home in North Andover, Massachusetts, by a team that takes squishing seriously.
We drop them, stretch them, squeeze them, and yes, chew on the prototypes, because a NeeDoh has to feel right and hold up to the way real hands and real kids actually use it. The texture, the give, the way it returns to shape: none of that is an accident. It is the part the imitations never get right.
